Let’s say that I create a relative keyword phrase that is “How to impress a girl”. Next, I write articles based on this phrase. In order to determine the absolute keyword density, I would need to divide the number of times this keyword appears throughout my entire website by the number of articles that I have written.

Google AdWords Keyword Tool and AdWords Statics both measure relative keyword volume, but they do not provide you with absolute keyword volumes. Keyword traffic estimators work by calculating the number of times each keyword appears throughout a page and then dividing that number by the total number of pages on your site. This allows you to quickly determine how much overall traffic you are really getting.
